Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the main function of this role is to manage the Global profit and loss (P&L) for identified business units. Strategic involvement will include the development and implementation of a strategic plan to address contracting strategies and capturing future incremental growth in the marketplace. Lead and develop negotiation strategies that implement the strategic plan of the core business. In addition, working with the business development resources to aid in the marketing and commercialization of new products for Hexion. The role requires the ability to successfully partner with other functions such as technology, strategic marketing, business development, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, procurement, human resources and legal within the global and regional matrix organizational structure. Ensure adherence with all compliance related activities, core values, standards, policies and practices both internally and externally.

Job Responsibilities
  • Create and execute on vision for Hexion's business units.
  • Implement the Strategic plan of the business using the resources developed by the commercial team and other functional teams in Hexion.
  • Develop strategies and execute contracts with strategic customers that align with the goals of the business.
  • Manage market data to understand opportunities is share and pricing actions.
  • Leverage the business development team to focus on market opportunities identified from customer and market interactions.
  • Direct marketing and product communication to new and existing customers to grow share and customer understanding of Hexion's value proposition and offerings.
  • Participate in the budgeting process for the Global business
  • Partner with the business finance resource to analyze business performance and opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 20+ years working in the public and private sector with any combination of following:
    • 10+ years' experience in the chemical industry including 3-5 years in the R&D and commercial spaces.
    • 10+ years' experience managing marketing and new product commercialization for a business and at least 5 of those years in a global space.
    • 10+ years' experience managing direct reports with at least 5+ years with multiple levels in reporting structure.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large scale global projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in both the marketing and new product commercialization spaces.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven success in driving marketing and new product growth, innovation, and commercialization.
  • Four-year undergraduate degree, MBA preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
