STV Inc. has an immediate need in the Morrisville, NC area for a Transportation/GIS Planner in our Transportation North Carolina Group.The successful candidate will serve a key role in STV's growing planning, engineering, and construction practice. The ideal candidate is an individual who is highly proactive, understands urban, transportation, and environmental planning concepts, has good knowledge of GIS applications and analysis, has good written and oral communication skills, and has an interest in learning.

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Planner and GIS Specialist on multi-disciplinary projects that relate to transportation project development, transit planning, asset management, and environmental planning.
• Assist in the preparation of transportation studies, environmental studies, feasibility studies, alternatives analyses, asset management data collection, and NEPA documents.
• Perform multi-modal transportation analysis, GIS analysis and mapping, develop graphics and presentations, perform technical writing, and prepare portions of various planning documents.
• Interface with various disciplines throughout the company

Specific Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Geographic Information Science, Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field
• Proficiency with ArcGIS products and Microsoft Office Suite
• Great cartographic and visualization skills
• Experience with data collection and database management
• Experience with technical writing
• Experience working on transit and transportation projects (preferred)
• Willingness to work towards AICP or GISP certification (preferred)
• Proficiency with Adobe Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation (preferred)
