The Role

The Vice President of Generics Analytics is responsible for leading a team of internal strategic thought partners with expertise in business intelligence, forecasting, visualization, decision analytics, and secondary/syndicated data assets relevant to healthcare. They will provide data-driven strategic insights into business decisions through a variety of analytical methodologies. They will also provide insights into opportunities and risks across McKesson's healthcare ecosystem. The leader will build collaborative relationships with other PSaS teams and McKesson Technology to drive value for the Generics team and rest of McKesson.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive analytics strategy for the Generics team, aligning with business objectives and key performance indicators.

  • Lead, guide and mentor the analytics team to drive actionable insights and deliver impactful analytics solutions.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders in sales, operations, and finance to identify business opportunities and address challenges through data analysis.

  • Utilize advanced statistical and analytical techniques to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for growth, margin expansion, cost optimization, and operational efficiency within Generics group.

  • Design and implement predictive modeling, forecasting, and simulation methodologies to support demand forecasting, inventory management, and pricing decisions.

  • Drive the development and deployment of data visualizations and dashboards to provide real-time insights to internal stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making.

  • Stay informed about industry and business trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in analytics, and recommend innovative approaches to enhance the company's analytical capabilities.

  • Collaborate with other McKesson Technology teams to ensure the availability, integrity, and security of data infrastructure and analytics platforms.

  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and promote the use of analytics across the organization.

  • Improve team's performance through business literacy, ongoing training and development, quality hiring and succession and workforce planning.

Qualifications

We seek an accomplished leader, with demonstrated success in leading large teams, building trusted advisor relationships with business and transforming companies to be data-driven, leveraging advances in technology & analytics.

Minimum Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field, with a proven track record of driving impactful insights and delivering business value

  • 8+ years of management and leadership experience managing and developing high-performing analytics teams

Critical Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the Pharmaceutical industry, including a strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory landscape, and supply chain operations.

  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, data mining, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques like Python, R, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI or similar platforms.

  • Previous experience leading & managing large-scale organizations through significant change management/transformations. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Previous experience managing complex projects and portfolios to deliver creative solutions to drive business outcomes.

  • Ability to influence, and engage partners, stakeholders and influencers across organizational levels and effectively communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding qualitative, as well as any relevant quantitative, targets and goals.

  • Ability to translate analytics and technological perspectives into strategic business languages and actionable results, and perform persuasive business presentations.

  • Thinks in holistic and systemic ways across the full chain of activities, partners and stakeholders involved; strong desire and ability to uncover root cause and solve real or potential business problems.

  • Expertise in applying data analysis, data science, forecasting, decision analytics, BI reporting and other analytics frameworks and techniques to influence business decisions.

  • Proven success leading analytics team and developing individuals; ability to empower teams and individuals to act autonomously and hold them accountable for work delivery.

  • Impeccable ethics and integrity.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in a science, data, engineering, or a business discipline); an MBA or Master's degree preferred

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$191,100 - $318,500
